About Plain Ledger

Plain Ledger is an independent educational blog about media literacy. We write explainers that help readers understand how news is produced and how to judge what they read.

What we do

We publish evergreen guides on source checking, statistics, headlines and the difference between reporting and opinion.

What we do not do

We do not publish breaking news, unverified claims, rumours or paid content disguised as editorial. Our articles do not describe unconfirmed events.

Funding

The site may display advertising from third-party networks such as Google. Advertising never influences what we write. Ads are always separate from editorial content.
